BANGKOK, Sept 20 (TNA) – Registrants of the co-payment subsidy scheme will receive another 1,500 baht on Oct 1 in the third-phase implementation of the government’s assistance project for COVID-affected people, according to the government spokesman.
Spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana said the Finance Ministry would transfer the sum on Oct 1 for recipients to spend from Oct 1 to Dec 31 and the spending would also cover orders via food delivery platforms to stimulate the economy in the fourth quarter of this year.
About 26 million people were eligible for the subsidy in the Khon La Khrueng co-payment scheme and over 24 million of them already exercised their right to the handout. The government spokesman encouraged about 1 million other people to exercise the right to the cost-of-living aid by registering for the subsidy via the Pao Tang app and www.คนละครึ่ง.com.
In the subsidy scheme, the government pays half the prices of food, drink and consumer products worth up to 150 baht per recipient per day. (TNA)
