BANGKOK, Aug 18 (TNA) – The country logged a new record high of 312 daily COVID-19 fatalities and recorded 20,515 new patients over the past 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry reported.
The new patients included 20,267 cases among general people and 248 cases among prison inmates.
Over the past 24 hours, 22,682 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals while 207,553 others remained at hospitals for COVID-19 treatment. Since the pandemic began last year, the total cases have risen to 968,957. The death toll was 8,285. (TNA)
