BANGKOK, June 1 (TNA) – A Thai aged 32 years was arrested for allegedly smuggling four kilograms of crystal meth aka “ice” into South Korea, according to the Yonhap News Agency.
The Thai national was indicted after trying to smuggle the narcotic worth about 376 million baht via a flight on May 6.
The drug was hidden in packages of protein supplements and the suspect was reportedly hired for 200,000 baht for the smuggling attempt.
The news agency also reported that South Korean prosecutors had indicted five Thai people and two South Koreans for similar crimes from last November to May this year.
The Narcotics Suppression Bureau in Thailand told the Thai News Agency that it was seeking more information about the ‘ice’ smuggling case from South Korea. (TNA)
