BANGKOK, May 5 (TNA) – The cabinet approved the third phase of the co-pay scheme to hand out 3,000 baht each to 31 million people to cushion the economic impacts of COVID-19.
Proposed by the Finance Ministry and the National Economic and Social Development Council, the third phase of the co-pay subsidy scheme estimated at 93 billion baht was aimed at increasing people’s purchasing power.
It was set to be valid from July to December to stimulate spending in the second half of this year.
The spending rules were expected to repeat those of the first two phases but may include spending on services. The government had yet to give details on the third phase. (TNA)
