TAK, March 9 (TNA) – The governor of Tak province ordered a five-day lockdown of Islam Mae Sot Community as officials detected many new COVID-19 cases there.
Governor Pongrat Piromrat ordered the lockdown of Islam Mae Sot Community in Mae Sot district. Its new COVID-19 cases were migrant households and included a prayer leader of the packed community.
All the infected people were admitted at Maesot General Hospital and dozens of at-risk people were quarantined.
Schools in Mae Sot municipality remained open except Islam Suksa School that stands in the middle of the Muslim community. The school was closed for disinfection and reopened today with strict disease control measures.
It was the third lockdown of a community in Mae Sot municipality because health workers were detecting new COVID-19 cases, mostly migrant workers, in their active case finding efforts. (TNA)
