BANGKOK, Oct 22 (TNA) — Thai health officials and experts say disease control efforts must be in place even when a COVID-19 vaccine becomes available.
A majority of new COVID-19 cases in Thailand has been imported cases in the past four months. But health officials urged people to continue the disease prevention measures.
Even though a vaccine is available, no one could guarantee that it is 100 percent effective because COVID-19 is an emerging disease. It is still uncertain that a recovered patient is 100 percent immune to the coronavirus.
Thailand, meanwhile, reports 10 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, bringing the total to 3,719.
All of the new patients are being quarantined after travelling from several countries. Three foreigners from Taiwan, Turkey and UK. Seven Thais from Yemen (2), Netherlands (2), Belgium (1), Japan (1), UK (1). (TNA)
