CHIANG MAI, Oct 9 (TNA) – Immigration police arrested 19 illegal Chinese immigrants at a rented house in Chiang Mai and they were tested for Covid-19.
Fifteen men and four women illegally entered Thailand at Mae Sot district in Tak province before they travelled to Chiang Mai by truck.
According to the police, they entered through a natural border pass four days ago from Myanmar, where the spread of Covid-19 continues.
Nasal swab tests were conducted on them as part of the precautionary measures but initially, none of them had fever.
The police are questioning them to find out their purposes in entering Thailand. Legal action will be taken against them for illegal entry.
It is presumed that they may involve in a call center scam or online gambling. (TNA)
