BANGKOK, Oct 26 (TNA) – Concerned authorities at Bangkok and Laem Chabang ports have implemented measures to fight against particulate matter 2.5 micrometres, expected to worsen during approaching winter.
Director of the Port Authority of Thailand said engines at the Bangkok Port are required to be temporarily stopped while not working. Water is sprayed in the premises to control the tiny dust and face masks are distributed to every staff.
Also, the Laem Chabang Port has sprayed water of over 64,000 litres in its compound of about 70 rai and surrounding areas.
Owners of firms near Laem Chabang Port have been asked to join the ‘Big Cleaning Day’ activities and to control pollution emitted from trucks and labour-saving devices. (TNA)
