BANGKOK, Jan 3 (TNA) – Thailand’s Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has declared assets worth 13.8 billion baht, including luxury cars and designer handbags and liabilities of 4.4 billion baht, according to a public declaration by the country’s anti-corruption agency released on Friday.
The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) report showed the 37-year-old premier, who took office in September 2024 and her husband Pitaka Suksawat have a combined wealth of 13.9 billion baht, divided into Ms. Paetongtarn’s assets of 13.8 billion baht and Mr. Pitaka’s assets of approximately 147 million baht.
Among her declared assets are 23 luxury vehicles, including a Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid valued at 10.6 million baht and a Rolls-Royce Phantom worth 6.7 million baht. The itemized list also includes more than 200 luxury handbags and nine Bearbrick collectible figures.
The premier’s real estate portfolio includes three land plots in Pathum Thani province near Bangkok and one property in Japan’s Hokkaido, purchased in December 2019 for 15 million baht.
She also owns nine properties, including five condominiums in Bangkok and two two-story houses in Nonthaburi province and Bangkok.
The declaration revealed significant family loans, including 2.39 billion baht borrowed from her sister Pintongta Shinawatra Kunakornwong, 335 million baht from her brother Panthongtae Shinawatra, and 136 million baht from her mother Khunying Potjaman Damapong, all dated September 8, 2016.
Paetongtarn is the daughter of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and leads the Pheu Thai Party that came to power last year. – 819 (TNA)
