BANGKOK, Dec 29 (TNA) – The police investigators of the Pathumwan Station will convene a meeting next week to review the Paragon shooting investigation report involving a 14-year-old suspect, following the return of the case file by the Office of Attorney-General’s Youth and Families Division 3.
The case was returned as the investigative process was not in accordance with the law since the report had been concluded before the police obtained the suspect’s psychiatric evaluation.
At the same time, the Galaya Rajanakarin Institute’s diagnostic results suggest that the young suspect is currently not mentally fit to stand trial.
The investigators will complete the inquiry and then submit the case to the prosecutor’s office before the expiration of the 20-year statute of limitations.
The shooting rampage which occurred on Oct 3 at Siam Paragon shopping complex killed a Thai and two foreigners – one from China and the other from Myanmar and injured four others. The 14-year-old gunman has faced several charges including premeditated murder and possession of a firearm. – 819 (TNA)
