BANGKOK, Nov 29 (TNA) – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha discussed three ideas for stable, balanced and inclusive economic development with the US-ASEAN Business Council.
United States ambassador Robert Godec led representatives of USABC to meet the prime minister. They included USABC president Ted Osius and representatives of 43 companies in energy, food, agriculture, health, information technology and finance sectors.
On the occasion, Gen Prayut presented the three ideas for the Thai economic development in the “Next Normal” era. They are 1) the promotion of balanced economy and carbon-free society; 2) the development of economy with competitiveness and strong supply chains; and 3) economic development with innovation and transition to digital economy.
Mr Osius said it was the biggest delegation of USABC that visited Thailand and showed strong intention to increase cooperation with the country and invest in the region.
Representatives of the US private sector promised to support the bio-circular-green economic model of Thailand through their cooperation on energy consumption and production. They also said they were ready to develop personnel’s skills to support their investment in the future. (TNA)
