BANGKOK, Nov 14 (TNA) – Superb Thai dishes will be served to participants in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in their gala dinner at the Royal Thai Navy Convention Hall on Nov 17, according to the government spokesman.
Spokesman Anucha Burapachaisri said all dishes would feature fusion foods carefully designed to present a wide range of colors, scents and touches.
In the menu, there are Amuse-Bouche (snack) including crispy pastry cups with cream sauce and sturgeon caviar from a royal project on the Doi Inthanon mountain; and the “Welcome to Thailand” appetizers presenting delicious foods from four regions – curry noodles of the North, spicy river prawn cakes of the Central Plain, charcoal-grilled Wagyu beef with dip sauce of the Northeast and Betong roast chicken of the South. There will also be salad dishes with organic vegetables from nationwide community-based enterprises, organic chicken and painted spiny lobsters from Phuket province and Suphan Buri’s duck eggs pickled in Phetchaburi’s salt.
The main course will comprise spicy curry with Pon Yang Kham beef from Sakon Nakhon province with Thai vegetables, organic pearl grouper from Phuket with mushroom and coconut soup sauce and kaffir lime foam, Hom Mali jasmine fragrant rice from Thung Kula Rong Hai and nine kinds of brown rice with lemon grass fragrance.
Desserts will include taro custard with lotus seed and Thai fruit sauce served with passion fruit sorbet, longan honey, Thai brandy-flavored chocolate and lychee macaron. There would also be dishes of Thai fruits served with Fleur du Nord tea from the North and premium coffee from Nan province, Mr Anucha said. (TNA)
