BANGKOK, April 22 (TNA) – New coronavirus cases in
Thailand continue to drop, recording 15 on Wednesday after reaching
the peak level of nearly 200 in March.
Dr. Taweesilp Wisanuyotin, Spokesman of the Center for
COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA),
said in the daily press briefing on Wednesday that 15
new coronavirus cases were confirmed, bringing the total number to 2,826.
He said that 244 more patients had
recovered from the disease, meaning the recovery rate in Thai was up to 83.23
percent.
Dr. Taweesilp said the 49th victim who died from
Covid-19 was a 58-year-old
housewife who had suffered complications from diabetes, high blood pressure and
obesity.
Most of the Covid-19 cases in Thailand are found
in Bangkok, 1,451, followed by Phuket, 193,
Nonthaburi, 152, and Samutprakan, 109,
according to the CCSA.
Dr. Taweesilp said that 36 out of 77 provinces
had successfully contained the virus; no new cases were reported in those
provinces in the past two weeks. (TNA)
