BANGKOK, April 20 (TNA) – Thailand reported 27 new cases of Covid-19 infections, raising the total cases to 2,792 without a new coronavirus-related death in the past 24 hours.
Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin, spokesman of the government’s Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration said the number of the recovery cases rose by 71 to 1,999 in total.
The death toll remains at 47.
The daily new cases included 16 people in close contact with earlier patients.
Other new cases were two visitors to crowded places and one returnee, placed under the state quarantine in Krabi.
The government was investigating 8 other cases.
Among all coronavirus cases, reported in the country, the most cases or 1,591 were centered in Bangkok and adjacent province of Nonthaburi, followed by 577 in the South, 354 in the central region, 108 in the Northeast and 95 in the North. Most patients are in the age range of 20-29. (TNA)
