YALA, Aug 7 (TNA) — Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said investigation into Bangkok bombings was progressing and the chief negotiator for southern peace talks remained unchanged.
Regarding a series of bomb explosions in Bangkok late last week, Gen Prayut said suspects were arrested and most of them were residents in southern border provinces.
They wanted to escalate violence. Investigators were trying to reach the mastermind, the prime minister said.
The bombings would not have any impact on the position of the southern peace chief negotiator who was still Gen Udomchai Thammasarorat, Gen Prayut said.
The prime minister said that during his visit to the deep South, he saw positive changes as activities could happen in many areas. He promised the government would speed up development projects for the far South and they included transport projects. (TNA)
