BANGKOK, Oct 16 (TNA) – Thai Prime Minister Gen Prayut
Chan-o-cha said on Tuesday he accepted all comments and responses pouring in on
his personal social media accounts that have been recently launched.
Thousands of netizens have followed and posted their
comments on Gen Prayut’s social media platforms — Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and
the website www.prayutchan-o-cha.com — since they were opened on Saturday.
His first Facebook post read: “Dear all, as today many of us
like to communicate via Facebook, I have opened my personal account to
communicate with and inform you on policies and the government’s works … All
suggestions and opinions are welcomed.”
While some were upbeat with the move, many wrote negative
comments lashing the military junta’s leader with satires and fierce
criticisms.
Before chairing the weekly Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, Gen Prayut told reporters that it was normal that he received both positive and
negative reactions.
On another Facebook post, the prime minister thanked
everyone for commenting, both liking and disliking, but his intention is to
learn of people’s problems in order to find solutions.
Another post on Tuesday is a selfie with Wild Boars (Mu Pa)
footballers who met him at Government House after completing a tour in
Argentina and the US.
One of the comments berated that Gen Prayut previously said his
real happiness was staying away from social media, suggesting he turned to
digital platform for political purposes.(TNA)
