BANGKOK, April 30 (TNA) – Thailand’s Supreme Court has dismissed a petition seeking an inquiry into former PM Thaksin Shinawatra’s hospitalization, citing the petitioner’s lack of direct legal standing.
However, the court will independently investigate whether Thaksin’s imprisonment followed the correct legal procedures.
The court has ordered the heads of the Corrections Department, Bangkok Remand Prison, and Police General Hospital to provide explanations and evidence within 30 days regarding Thaksin’s detention and transfer for medical treatment. This action follows concerns raised about the adherence to the final court warrant in his case.
A hearing has been scheduled for June 13 to review the submitted information. -819 (TNA)
