PATTANI, March 7 (TNA) – Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the bombing of a Border Patrol Police base in Pattani province earlier this year.
The incident occurred on January 18, 2025, at approximately 2:30 AM, when two bombs were detonated at a border patrol police base in Muang district, Pattani province. No injuries were reported in the attack.
Following the incident, police launched an investigation and reviewed CCTV footage from the area. The footage showed three suspects on two motorcycles traveling in the vicinity of the base around the time of the attack.
The suspects were later identified as a resident in Yarang district, Pattani province. Police then conducted a search of the suspect’ home and arrested the man.
He was arrested along with a motorcycle and clothing that matched those seen in the CCTV footage.
During questioning, he confessed to his involvement in the bombing and implicated three others. He also led police to locations where bomb-making materials were hidden and where the bombs were tested.
He has been charged with terrorism, causing an explosion, and attempted murder of officers. Police are currently searching for the three other suspects. -819 (TNA)
