BANGKOK, July 3 (TNA) – The 8th ASEAN Drug Monitoring Network Operational workshop, hosted by the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) is taking place during July 3 – 5.
It is being held at the Pullman Bangkok King Power Hotel.
Weerawat Tengamnuay, ONCB’s Deputy Secretary- General said representatives from 10 ASEAN Member States, ASEAN Secretariat and the Thailand Substance Abuse Academic Network attended the workshop to make a final review of ADM Report 2018.
The report will be presented at the 40th Meeting of the ASEAN Senior Officials on Drug Matters (ASOD) in Cambodia in August.
Participants will also have a final discussion on the ASEAN Drug Monitoring (ADM) User Guide for online ADMN Report System, as well as the work plan for 2020.
The meeting also discussed the drug situation in the first six months of this year and innovation in addressing the drug problems in ASEAN.
ASEAN Drug Monitoring Network (ADMN) is an initiative of Thailand to encourage ASEAN Member States to collect comparable data on drug situation in each ASEAN Member States in order to establish a regional database as an official reference.
ADMN Project has started in 2016 with participation and support from all AMS and ASEAN Secretariat.
One concrete outcome of ADMN is ASEAN Drug Monitoring Annual Report which is the only regional official annual report on drug situation. (TNA)
