BANGKOK, March 25 (TNA) — The University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce expects the Palang Pracharath Party to form the next government and result in continued implementation of policies.
Thanavath Phonvichai, UTCC’s director for economic and business forecasting, said the general election showed people’s demand for the government to continuously solve economic problems and stabilize politics.
“There is a high chance for the Palang Pracharath Party to form the government with Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha being the prime minister. This will allow the continuous implementation of policies. Foreign investors will have confidence and invest in the government’s target industries,” he said.
A coalition government was likely to work smoothly because several parties intended similarly to increase people’s income, take care of farmers and reduce inequality, Mr Thanavath said. He expected to see the clear formation of the next government in two months.
He also said the Election Commission would be able to answer all doubts about the general election.
Athip Peechanont, president of the Housing Business Association, said he wished the next government would be stable and free of disorder; otherwise, its problems would shake the confidence of people and investors. (TNA)
