BANGKOK, March 22 (TNA) – The Royal Automobile Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage (RAAT) shows its interest to host a Formula E competition in Thailand.
As the Formula E race is now popular worldwide, the RAAT President, Dr. Somporn Suebthawilkul said at the Sport Regional Congress Asia Pacific 2019, held in Bangkok from March 20-22 that this year, the RAAT is aimed at promoting E-Karting, E-mobility and using EVs.
Moreover, the association has discussed with the International Automobile Federation (FIA) about Thailand’s readiness to host the Formula E competition.
Jean Todt, the president of FIA praised Thailand for hosting the Sport Regional Congress Asia Pacific, attended by members from more than 20 countries to discuss development of autosports and related innovations.
In response to Thailand’s intent to host the Formula E racing, he said Thailand has a potential to organize it in the near future. (TNA)
