BANGKOK, March 8 (TNA) – Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Thailand paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha at Government House on the occasion of his assumption of position.
H.E. Mr. Lee Wook-heon pledged to continue fostering cooperation with Thailand in trade and investment for the utmost benefit of the two countries.
He praised Thai Prime minister’s vision to establish the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and would support South Korean private sector to invest in the EEC.
Thai prime minister said Thailand is ready to foster cooperation with South Korea under the latter’s the New Southern Policy, aimed at expanding ties with Southeast Asian nations and India.
South Korean President Moon Jae-in is scheduled to pay an official visit to Thailand later this year to forge mutual relations.
South Korean ambassador congratulated Thailand as ASEAN chair this year.
Both parties discussed the Korean Peninsula situation, showing positive development.
The Thai Government stands ready to cooperate with all sides in solving the problem by peaceful means. (TNA)
