BANGKOK, Feb 23 (TNA) – Artificial rainmaking operations will start on March 1 in Chanthaburi as the eastern provinces have begun to face drought.
Surasee Kittimonthon, director-general of Royal Rainmaking and Agricultural Aviation Department said his department plans to set up a temporary artificial rainmaking unit at an airport in Thamai district.
Besides solving drought, the department plans to begin an artificial rainmaking mission to tackle the air pollution in the North when the weather condition is favorable to a cloud seeding operation.
The amount of dust particles has now risen in northern provinces due to burning farming materials in the region and a neighbouring country. (TNA)
