CHON BURI, Jan 16 (TNA) – Thai authorities have arrested
136 undocumented immigrants from Myanmar and Cambodia who were found
crammed in the trucks near Pattaya city in Chon Buri, one of the three
provinces under the Eastern Seaboard.
Police stopped and searched several trucks at a checkpoint
in an operation to suppress illegal migrants filling jobs mostly at
construction sites in the resort town.
Chon Buri police said the migrants included 133 Myanmar
nationals and three Cambodians who failed to show proper travel documents.
They were charged of immigration law violations and would
deported to their home countries.(TNA)
