BANGKOK, Jan 2 (TNA) – About 160,000 people are
expected to return to Bangkok by bus today after the New Year celebrations
ended.
JirasakYaowatsakul, managing director of Transport
Co said more than 144,000 passengers arrived
at three bus terminals in Bangkok on Dec 1.
Today, it expects about 160,000 people to return to Bangkok. Due to a lack of taxi service
to accommodate the large number of passengers, the Bangkok Mass Transit
Authority have offered shuttle buses from Mor Chit 2 bus terminal to the BTS stations
at Chutuchak and Victory Monument.
Jirasak said the number of passengers, using
inter-provincial buses and public mini-vans dropped by ten per cent
year-on-year.
The company provided regular and extra buses and
vans for about three million passengers from Dec 1-31. (TNA)
