BANGKOK, Dec 25 (TNA) – The management of Suvarnabhumi airport expects about 200,000 people will use the main national airport daily during Christmas and New Year holidays.
Suthirawat Suwannawat, general manager of Suvarnabhumi airport, said about 2.4 million travelers would use the airport from Dec 25 to Jan 5. The traffic would rise by 5.86% from the same period last year.
During this 12-day period, Suvarnabhumi airport would serve 13,245 flights, or 1,104 flights a day. The number would increase by 8.33% year-on-year, he said.
The management of the airport set up its Airport Operation Center (AOPC) to coordinate safety and conveniences for air passengers during the period.
Besides, it exempted parking fees at the airport’s long-term Zone C parking lot from 8am on Dec 28 to 5pm on Jan 2. The parking lot can serve 718 vehicles, Mr Suthirawat said. (TNA)
