BANGKOK, DEC 21 (TNA) – Thailand’s exports in November
decreased 0.95 percent, still on pace to grow 8 percent this year, the Commerce
Ministry announced on Friday.
Pimchanok Vornkorporn, a senior Commerce Ministry official,
said Thailand’s customs-cleared exports recorded at US$21.23 billion in value
last month.
The export drop was unexpected: analysts had forecast for a
rise after it expanded in October 8.7 percent in October.
Pimchanok said shipments of cars and car parts, and
computers and accessories had dropped in November.
The export growth target would be achieved if Thailand
exports reach US$22 billion in December, she added.
Imports, meanwhile, rose 14.7 percent in November, said
Bunjongjit Angsusing, director of Foreign Trade Promotion Department.
The ministry still expected exports to rise 8 percent this
year compared with a 9.9 percent expansion last year.(TNA)
