RATCHABURI, Nov 27 (TNA) – An elephant camp in Thailand’s
central province of Ratchaburi holds a banquet to feed 40 elephants.
Chang Puak Camp offered the special treat for the jumbos on
the occasion of the 46th birthday anniversary of the camp’s owner, Thanapat
Kayar.
Thanapat said the elephant camp had become a sanctuary for
elephants that used to be serving hard labour or straying on streets.
Now the elephants and their mahouts had permanent home,
giving service to tourists at Damnoen Saduak floating market, he said.
The elephants fed on their favorite fruits from sugar cane
to corns. Tourists were also allowed to
feed them. (TNA)
