UTTARADIT, Nov 15 (TNA)- Trash bin art helps maintain
cleanliness and sanitary at a school in Uttaradit province, northern Thailand.
Wat Klongpho Municipal School boasts its clean condition and
creativity with trash bins painted with cartoon characters and messages
encouraging students to sort out trash before ditching.
Elementary students carefully look at their favourite comic
characters and read the message to make sure they use the right bin.
School director Dr. Boonperm Sonpak said the management came
up with the idea after the municipality recently gave the school 20 200-liter
bins.
Cartoon characters encouraged the students to throw away the
trash in the right bins as the school had recently launched an anti-global
warming learning center, he said.
The center educates the students about the dangers deriving
from global warming and how they can join the fight against global warming. Learning tools show how long each type of
garbage takes to degrade and how harmful they are to the environment.
Waste sorting was one way students could help protect the
environment, Dr Boonperm said.(TNA)
