BANGKOK, Oct 25 (TNA) — The Department of Industrial Promotion (DIP) and the Organization for Small & Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation, Japan (SMRJ) are promoting the networking of small and medium-sized enterprises in Thailand and Japan’s Nagano prefecture in the electronic, communication and machinery sectors.
Deputy Industry Minister Somchai Harnhirun said the movement was the latest effort to match Thai and Japanese SMEs.
It was made official with an agreement that the DIP signed with Nagano authorities. The signed agreement was the 18th one for Thai-Japanese joint SME development, he said.
DIP Director-General Kobchai Sungsitthisawad said the signing would lead to the exchange of business information. As Nagano was well-known for high-precision technology, the DIP intended to share the knowledge with Thai SMEs in relevant fields, he said.
The technology related to parts of smart phones, printers, cameras and electronic circuits and supported the manufacturing of smart and small devices highly demanded by global markets, Mr Kobchai said.
Based in Nagano, 1,150 companies are investing in other countries and 113 of them invest in Thailand. (TNA)
