BANGKOK, March 6 (TNA) — Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha on Thursday started his problem-solving meetings where he will be discussing major issues and solutions directly with affected parties.
Gen Prayut who is also the defence minister received representatives of farmers, general people and independent operators in the first session of his “Have Problems, Consult the Prime Minister” campaign.
Pirapan Salirathavibhaga, adviser to the prime minister, and Theeraphat Prayoonsit, permanent secretary for the Prime Minister’s Office, brought the representatives of the groups of people to Government House. Digital Economy and Society Minister Buddhipongse Punnakanta and Education Minister Nataphol Teepsuwan also attended the meeting.
Mr Pirapan said almost 30 representatives of the people’s groups met the prime minister to voice their hardships.
The prime minister wanted to listen to economic problems and related plights and would like to know what affected people needed from the government, Mr Pirapan said. He would schedule the next session of the campaign, depending on the prime minister’s work timetables.
The first meeting of “Have Problems, Consult the Prime Minister” happened in a friendly atmosphere. People’s representatives elaborated on their problems and needs for solutions from the government.
The prime minister stressed that the government would take appropriate action in response to their problems and solutions would be fair and reflect equality. The government was aware that all parties were playing their parts in supporting national development, Gen Prayut said. (TNA)
