BANGKOK, Feb 1 (TNA) -The
Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has set up the Emergency Operations
Centre (EEC) in the wake of an outbreak of a new strain of coronavirus in China.
Deputy
BMA Governor Pol Lt Gen
Sophon Phitsutthiwong said the centre which has been established
Friday will monitor the deadly disease closely, find appropriate measures to
prevent it, and separate victims rapidly.
The
operation of the new center will support the Public Health Ministry to receive information
from public members on suspected coronavirus patients through telephone numbers
1669 or 1422.
The
Bangkok City Hall also launched a big cleaning campaign at the skytrain
interchange station – Siam Station today.
About 1,000 officials and volunteers
cleaned surfaces that commuters frequently come into contact with on the skywalk from Siam
station to Chidlom station to safeguard passengers in the light of the Wuhan
virus situation. (TNA)
