BANGKOK, Dec 23 (TNA) — The Transport Ministry prepares several measures to make all modes of public transport convenient and safe during the New Year holiday.
Deputy government spokesperson Trisulee Trisaranakul said the measures were set for implementation from Dec 20 to Jan 2. Initially from Dec 20 to 25, passenger buses and roads would be maintained for convenient and safe traffic and from Dec 26 to Jan 2, transport officials would provide travelers and motorists with convenient trips and laws would be strictly enforced at public transport terminals.
Besides, from Jan 3 to 9, concerned officials would evaluate the measures to develop effective solutions for transport during other festivals throughout 2020, Miss Trisulee said.
“There will be enough passenger buses. Tolls will be exempted. Traffic information will be available and complaints can be filed around the clock via the hotline number 1356. Service areas will be operating on main roads,” she said.
The Transport Ministry will also share 50% of fines collected from traffic rule violators with informants and will also seriously secure level crossings and bus terminals during the New Year travel period, Miss Trisulee said. (TNA)
