BANGKOK, Dec 11 (TNA) – The National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) has installed air purifiers at a giant Christmas tree downtown to fight fine dust during the New Year.
The NSTDA in cooperation with Siam Piwat Co., Ltd. is holding a campaign, called “Circular Living Campaign 2019”. Under the campaign, the NSTDA’s National Security and Dual-Use Technology Center (NSD) has developed an electrostatic ionic air purifier, IonFresh, which can efficiently trap dust particles and release clean air.
It is designed to save energy and cost effective. Its production cost is much lower than imported air purifiers, said NSD director, Siwaruk Siwamogsatham.
Four air purifiers have been placed at the Magical Christmas Tree under the theme Clean Air Eco Christmas Tree in front of Siam Discovery shopping center. The Christmas tree is made of paper coated with bioplastic.
With the Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) of 5,000 cubic meters per hour, IonFresh will produce clean air throughout the New Year Festival celebration until Jan 11, 2020.
IonFresh has been developed to be used in semi outdoor areas particularly rest areas for firefighters or temporary safety zones for evacuees.
In the future, the NSTDA plans to install them at public places and the origins of dust. (TNA)
