CHON BURI, Nov 27 (TNA) – A carnival-styled parade has
been held to welcome a newborn elephant calf at a botanical park in the eastern
Chon Buri province.
Staffers, mahouts and visitors celebrated the arrival of the
new member of Nong Nooch Pattaya Garden & Resort.
Born of eight-year-old Kor-ya and her mate Mai Mueang last
Friday, the calf becomes the 91st jumbo of the Garden.
A Buddhist monk performed a ritual in a ceremony on
Wednesday during which the female calf was given its name Saeng Korkaew.
Saeng Korkaew remains under care of veterinarian to ensure
good health before joining others in elephant exhibit.(TNA)
