BANGKOK, Nov 20 (TNA) – Thai and foreign businesses have
reached trade deals worth US232.6 million in a business-matching event
organized by Thailand’s Commerce Ministry on Wednesday.
In an effort to boost exports of Thai agricultural and
bioplastic products to overseas markets, the ministry invited over 150 Thai
companies to meet with 176 foreign companies from China, Japan, South Korea,
the Middle East, EU, the US, Africa and Asia.
Commerce Minister Jurin Laksanawisit witnessed the signing
of 14 trade deals between Thai businesses and their trade partners from China,
Hong Kong, India, the Philippines and Singapore, with a combined value of
US$232.6 million.
More trade deals are expected at the event seen as last-ditch
attempt to promote Thai exports.
In addition, Commerce Minister Jurin has assigned Thai trade
centers overseas to design export promotion plans for rice, fruit and rubber
