HANOI, Nov 15 (TNA) — Transport Minister Saksayam Chidchob attended the 25th ASEAN Transport Ministers Meeting (ATM) scheduled on Nov 14 and 15.
The meeting followed up the implementation of the Kuala Lumpur Transport Strategic Plan (KLTSP) set to be valid from 2016 to 2025 and cooperation between ASEAN and its dialogue partners namely China, Japan and South Korea to promote environment-friendly, safe and seamless transport between ASEAN and the dialogue partners.
The meeting also adopted six documents covering the promotion of multimodal transport in ASEAN, environment-friendly water transport, and the ASEAN single aviation and shipping markets.
They were the Implementation Framework of the ASEAN Framework Agreement on Multimodal Transport, the Declaration on the Adoption of the Implementation Framework of the ASEAN Framework Agreement on Multimodal Transport, the ASEAN Green Ship Strategy, the Protocol 1 on Flight Simulation Training Devices, the Protocol to Implement the Eleventh Package of Commitments on Air Transport Services under the ASEAN Framework Agreement on Services, and the Protocol 3 on the Expansion of Fifth Freedom Traffic Rights between Contracting Parties.
