NAN, Aug 21 (TNA) – The Nan River has overflowed and
flooded a wide area in the three villages of the northern province of Nan after
hours of heavy rain.
Over 200 millimeters of rain sustained for 12 hours,
officials said, causing Ban Muang Kwa dike on the Nan River to overflow.
Three villages in Phu Piang district have been inundated.
Over 100 families were severely affected after torrents of
water cascaded from the damaged dike.
Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office of Nan has
mobilized manpower and resources to help the flood victims. A major highway has
been submerged in one-meter deep floodwater. (TNA)
