KRABI, March 6 (TNA) – Plastic food plates are used as
queue tickets at the Department of Lands office in Thailand’s southern Krabi
province in an attempt to reduce paper waste.
People are puzzled when they receive the plates at the
office in Klong Thom district until they learn that each plate bearing a queue
number.
While waiting they can also learn about legal tips for land
transaction printed on the plates. A
woman said she found this method very useful but not wasteful.
Unlike paper tickets that are thrown away, the queue plates
are returned for reuse.
An officer Apichart Pichiensophon said the queue management
had made the task easier during the past three months.
The office had durable queue tickets that contained useful
information about land law, he said. (TNA)
