CHIANG MAI, Feb 11 (TNA) – A fun games competition is
held in Chiang Mai province to mark the end of farming season.
Authorities of Taladyai sub-district in Chiang Mai’s Doi
Saket district organised fun sports to boost unity and entertain people in five
villages after their rice cultivation.
The sports event took place at the sports field of Taladyai
municipality. Participants joyfully took part in many fun sports including the
contests in which participants had to quickly eat two kilograms of noodles and
drink carbonated drinks, burst balloons tied to their bottoms and prepare
papaya salad while dancing.
Nathakorn Pohplook, 13 from Mae Ka Nua village, finished
eating two kilograms of noodles first while the first runner-up was Songkran
Khunsaping, 25 from Mae Ka Klang village.
The balloon-bursting game also entertained local people as
the balloons were very durable and contestants had to improvise their own
techniques to break them. The champion team was from Mae Jong Nua village.
In the papaya salad-dancing contest, participants showed off
their unbelievable steps and movements. Some even tossed their pestles while
some old contestants forgot about their ages during the contest and demanded
smelling salts afterwards. (TNA)
