BANGKOK, Aug 10 (TNA) – The Cabinet resolved to spend 33.47 billion baht to help the members of the Social Security Fund who were affected by COVID-19 control measures in 29 heavily hit provinces.
The financial aid covered 6.7 million Social Security Fund members as defined in Sections 39 and 40 of the Social Security Act. It will be funded with money from a 500-billion-baht borrowing executive decree. Each beneficiary will receive 5,000 baht.
Meanwhile, the Comptroller-General’s Department adjusted financial assistance for COVID-19 tests and treatment and the changes will take effect on Aug 16.
Comptroller-General Prapas Kong-ied said assistance for a COVID-19 test was set at no more than 1,700 baht and the treatment aid was capped at 7,500 baht a day. (TNA)
