BANGKOK, July 30 (TNA) – The Royal Gazette published a ban on any fake news that causes fear among general people and the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) was ordered to take action against the sources of such fake news.
The ban affected any books, printed materials and other media that contain the messages which may cause fear among general people or intentionally distort information and cause the misunderstanding that affects national security, order and public morality.
If any parties disseminate such fake news on the internet, the Office of the NBTC will order internet service providers to check the IP addresses of those parties and suspend internet services for the IP addresses.
Besides, the NBTC office will inform the police of the wrongdoing right away for prosecution. (TNA)
