BANGKOK, Oct 14 (TNA) – Barriers and barbed wire have been set up to protect Government House as anti-government protesters are heading towards the premises to press their demand for the resignation of Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-ocha.
The entrances of Government House both on Nakhon Sawan Road and Phitsanulok Road have been sealed off as thousands of protesters, calling themselves the Khana Ratsadorn group began their march from Democracy Monument to Government House around 3 p.m.
Civil servants there are still working as usual and there has been no announcement for them to leave the office. Meanwhile, the Government Spokesperson’s Office asked media members not to report information or record video clips of security officials’ operations inside the premises.
More than 10 high pressure water trucks are seen behind the Metropolitan Police Bureau, located less than one kilometer from Government House as the police have prepared to handle the situation if it escalates. (TNA)
