BANGKOK, Sept 24 (TNA) – Thailand will send RT-PCR test kits and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to Myanmar for support the fight against Covid-19.
Sophon Iamsirithavorn, chief of the Communicable Disease Division said that the Public Health Ministry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have cooperated to provide medical equipment to Myanmar for fast and precise disease investigation and protection of medical personnel.
Meanwhile, sending Thai experts to Myanmar can be done upon request from the neighbouring country, he said.
Thailand is confident that Myanmar will be able to contain coronavirus like Vietnam, which took more than a month to curb the virus as Myanmar has already shut down cities to control the coronavirus outbreak, he added.
The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration today reported two new cases of coronavirus disease in state quarantine. Both returned from the United States.
The first case was a businessman and was found being infected in the second test. The other case was an English-language teacher. She tested positive for the virus while being asymptomatic.
Of the total 3,516 cases, 3,353 recovered. The death toll remained unchanged at 59. (END)
