BANGKOK, Jan 2 (TNA) – The National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT) has invited stargazers to watch the Quadrantids meteor shower, which peaks on the night of Jan 3-4.
This shower can produce more than 100 shooting stars per hour at maximum.
Suparerk Karuehanon, NARIT’s head of astronomy academic services said the ideal time for watching is from 2.30 a.m. onwards and it can be seen with the naked eye.
Those who are interested in the celestial phenomenon are advised to choose a completely dark location and look to the northeastern sky to view the first meteor shower of this year.
The annual Quadrantids meteor shower phenomenon runs from Dec 28 to Jan 12. (TNA)
