BEIJING, June 25 (TNA) – China’s Minister of International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC), Liu Jianchao, affirmed today that China remains a key opportunity and reliable partner for Thailand and ASEAN.
During a meeting with former Thai ambassadors in Beijing, Liu underscored the close cooperation between Thailand and China, citing their swift joint response to the SARS crisis and mutual aid during emergencies like COVID-19. He also expressed the IDCPC’s interest in deepening collaboration with Thai think tanks and political parties for mutual regional benefit.
Liu emphasized that China and other developing nations should enhance cooperation to build mutual trust amid global challenges.
He restated China’s consistent position: upholding sovereignty and territorial rights, maintaining peace, and adhering to established cooperative frameworks such as the FTA, ASEAN Cooperation Dialogue, and RCEP.
China seeks mutually beneficial cooperation with all countries, necessitating respect for its sovereignty and development rights. Economically, Liu stressed, China continues to be a reliable partner and source of opportunity for Thailand and ASEAN, ready to share its innovative technologies.
