UBON RATCHATHANI, June 5 (TNA) – Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Phumtham Wechayachai on Wednesday visited Ubon Ratchathani province to assess the situation along the Thai-Cambodian border following a recent skirmish between Thai and Cambodian soldiers at Chong Bok.
Phumtham emphasized the importance of supporting frontline troops, stating that Thailand is pursuing peaceful solutions and has not conceded any sovereignty. He stressed that both nations are committed to continuous dialogue and de-escalation, prioritizing the safety of border residents through peaceful means. Phumtham also affirmed that there are no conflicts between the military and the government.
Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra echoed this sentiment after a cabinet meeting. She stated that the government and military are in constant communication, ensuring preparedness while maintaining a commitment to peaceful conflict resolution. -819 (TNA)
