RANONG, Jan 22 (TNA) – Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Srettha Thavisin on Monday led the Cabinet in inspecting six southern provinces along the Andaman Sea coastline to listen to public concerns on-site ahead of the cabinet retreat in Ranong tomorrow.
The trip marks the first mobile cabinet meeting this year.
After arriving in Ranong, the prime minister followed up on issues related to cross-border trade, migrant labor, customs procedures, and fisheries. He met with representatives of the fishing community to address fishing-related problems at the Ranong-Koh Song Port.
In the afternoon, he would visit the economic bridge project connecting the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea, known as the “Land Bridge Chumphon-Ranong Project,” at the Laem Son National Park.
This visit is considered significant, as it is the first time the Prime Minister has traveled to the project site, following continuous presentations of the project by the government abroad over the past four months.
In the evening, he would visit the tourism management of the Raksawarin hot spring in Bang Rin Sub-district.
Additionally, the Prime Minister has instructed the Cabinet to visit various locations. Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Phumtham Wechayachai met with representatives of mangosteen growers and exporters.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Parnpree Bahiddha-nukara inspected the Ranong Customs checkpoint.
Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul followed up a complaint about the delay in the bridge construction at Koh Payam.
Deputy Finance Minister Julapan Amornvivat looked into informal debt problems, meeting locals at a mosque. – 819 (TNA)
