BANGKOK, Feb 16 (TNA) – A medical student of Thammasat University, Rangsit campus tested postive for Covid- 19.
According to an initial investigation, it is believed that he cotnracted the virus from a patient.
Dr. Orapan Poachanukoon M.D., Vice Rector for Student Affairs said the student infected with coronavirus was a fourth-year student and he was admitted to Thammasat Chalermkiat Hospital. Forty-seven people close to the student were tested and all tested negative for Covid-19. They have been put under 14-day quarantine at the facilities provided by the university and their daily symptoms are being monitored via TU Covid application.
Today, Thailand reported 72 new coronavirus cases, including 69 local infections and three quarantined arrivals.
Meanwhile, Taweesin Visanuyothin, the spokesman of the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) said the CCSA meeting on Feb 22 will consider easing Covid-19 restrictions in each province where the outbreak situation has improved.
It will also discuss on a request to hold an international jet ski competition in Thailand, he added. (TNA)
