BANGKOK, July 18 (TNA) – Officials of the Land Transport Department are inspecting public transport vehicles to ensure that they comply with measures to control the coronavirus disease 2019, including the use of QR codes for passengers’ check-ins and checkouts.
Chirute Visalachitra, director-general of the department, said Transport Minister Saksayam Chidchob ordered strict disease control on public transport systems.
The control measures include the measurement of body temperatures of drivers and passengers, the use of face masks and the Thaichana check-in and checkout application and the provision of alcohol gel aboard vehicles and at passenger terminals and stations.
Public transport operators were required to use the Thaichana application or Thaichana platform and print QR codes for passengers to check in and check out.
Passengers could report the lack of disease control measures or substandard services via the hotline number 1584. (TNA)
